How to

Visit a VFN-Related Group

If you’re looking for a group to connect with, we would love to have you visit one of the VFN-related groups. If you’d just like to learn more, you’re welcome to come and experience it firsthand—at your discretion! Here’s how:

1 Browse the available VFN-related groups.

Take a moment to look through the groups and choose one that resonates with you by selecting “Visit a VFN-Related Group” below.

2 Select “JOIN” to share your interest.

This optional step allows you to provide details about yourself and learn about the group you’ve chosen, with no obligation to proceed.

- Note: Selecting “JOIN” does not mean you are becoming a member. It simply indicates your interest in visiting or learning more

3 Fill out the form and connect with a leader.

When you press “JOIN,” a form will appear to help facilitate an introduction with the leader of the group you’ve selected. They will provide information about their group—such as meeting times and locations—and respond to any questions, at their discretion. All information will come directly from that group’s leadership.

4 Plan your visit.

We’d love for you to explore a VFN-related group if you feel led to do so. Please coordinate directly with the leader regarding when you’d like to attend. For additional details, check the FAQ below or contact the leader directly. GLM/VFN respects each group’s self-leadership.

FAQS

What’s a Typical Gathering Like?

Each autonomous group within Vine Fellowship Network (VFN) is unique in how it gathers and ministers, reflecting its freedom and individuality as part of the larger Body of Christ. Here’s a general idea of what you might experience at one of the VFN-related groups:

  • Fellowship and relationship-building, often over a shared meal or refreshments (at the group’s discretion)
  • Worship, which may include recorded music, live instruments, or simple singing together
  • Interactive conversation centered on questions like, “What has Jesus been doing in your life?”
  • Reading and discussing Scripture together
  • Teaching or encouragement shared by the group leader, a participant, or optional video teaching from VFNtv
  • Prayer and ministry time among those gathered
  • Communion, open to all believers (as determined by the group)

Note: Gatherings are voluntary and guided by each group’s leadership. Resources from GLM/VFN are available at their discretion. See Terms of Service for details.

No, you’re welcome to join empty-handed! If you’d like to bring a Bible for discussion, feel free to do so. If you don’t have one, we’d be delighted to gift you one to keep. Your voice is valued as we explore what Jesus is doing in our lives and what He might be saying to us. We believe everyone can minister, strengthening our body as we see Jesus through each other. If you’re comfortable sharing, we’d love to hear it! If you prefer to listen while getting acquainted, that’s perfectly fine too.
Note: Participation is entirely voluntary. See Terms of Service for details.

Wear what feels comfortable for you! Most attendees choose casual clothes, and there’s no expectation to dress up or wear anything fancy.

Note: This is at your discretion and the group’s preference, with no requirements from GLM/VFN. See Terms of Service for details.

Some churches offer a meal before the meeting, others host a potluck, some provide snacks, and some don’t include food, depending on the group’s choice. They’ll communicate with you ahead of time about what to expect from the specific group you’re visiting.

Note: Food arrangements are managed by each autonomous church, with no obligation from GLM/VFN. See Terms of Service for details.

Yes, please do! All are welcome to join, whether they’ve known Jesus for years or have questions and doubts. If you’re bringing a large group, it’s a kind gesture to inform the church leader in advance for seating planning.

Note: Guest inclusion is at the discretion of each autonomous church. Participation remains voluntary. See Terms of Service for details.

Some groups offer children’s ministry during church meetings. Some groups lack the capacity for children’s ministry but warmly welcome children to join the adults. We believe Jesus speaks to and through our children, encouraging their participation. Parents may bring quiet activities to keep kids engaged.

Note: Children’s ministry is managed by each autonomous church. All involvement is voluntary. See Terms of Service for details.

If a church seeks our advice or counsel via the VFNRM: Request for Advisory Support Form (where VFNRM represents VFN Related Churches, Ministries, Ministers, Groups, etc.), we share our perspective on fostering a healthy church. This includes embracing a pattern of being rightly related, accountable, and transparent, encouraging apostolic connections as a voluntary priority—demonstrating to them and to God that they are not alone, but relationally linked in love for God and each other, as inspired by John 17:23 (“I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity”). This unity is relational, not organizational, reflecting integrity before God and man, both within and outside the church. For additional inspiration, we point to the Core Values of Greg Lancaster Ministries, Inc. (GLM), available at greglancaster.org/values, offered as voluntary guidance. Such counsel and guidance are provided voluntarily by GLM/VFN as non-binding, respecting each church’s autonomy, with no legal responsibility assumed. See Terms of Service for details.
